As Addition to other answers, @JsonProperty annotation is admittedly significant if you employ the @JsonCreator annotation in lessons which don't have a no-arg constructor. @Kent details out that Properties are usually not required to encapsulate fields, they may do a calculation on other fields, or provide other applications.
